Edinburgh – Take 3
Anyone care to tell me where the last 15 months have gone? Because I swear I only handed in my notice at work 2 weeks ago but apparently it was April last year and now it’s time to go back? The first week of mental festival hours is already over (not that I’m counting) and it feels strangely comforting to be back doing my old job with new colleagues.
When I’m not working until the wee small hours welcoming tourists to the Fringe and Tattoo, I’m wandering (read ‘getting lost’) in Edinburgh to see how much has changed in the last year. So far, a LOT. But it makes me all the more excited for Edinburgh – Take 3 (I think this is a much more appealing title than ‘final year at uni’). Of course, as well the 1038 new bars, restaurants and cafes, our old favourites are still there too. Our Wednesday afternoon adventures are looking very busy and will hopefully provide us with enough motivation to get through the year without too many wrinkles or grey hairs appearing!
I also FINALLY went to see my new flat and I am very much looking forward to getting the keys and making it look like a proper home. It’ll be so nice to unpack and stay in the same flat for 10 months!
Since I’ve been home, I’ve obviously been missing Switzerland and Paris a lot and have been thinking about my next move after uni. I’ve kinda been looking for a sign just for peace of mind that Zürich is the right decision…so you can imagine my amazement when I overhead two guests in the restaurant speaking Swiss German and naturally bounded over like Bambi on ice to talk about my love of there home.
I’m pretty content with things at the moment but I’m under no illusions: this is going to be a busy year!
